What we hold, and for how long
Last reviewed August 2026. Written to be read rather than to be complied with, though it is both.
Brightfell Renewables Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. If you want any of it corrected or deleted, email hello@brightfell.co and we will do it, or tell you why we cannot.
What we collect
From the enquiry form: your name, email address, postcode, roof covering, any array size you tell us about, and whatever you write in the message field. Nothing else, and no hidden fields.
From meter data, where you send it: half-hourly consumption readings for the property. These are pseudonymous on their own and become personal data because we hold them next to your address.
From the website itself: aggregate page view counts. No cookie is set for advertising, no profile is built, and nothing is shared with an advertising network.
Why we hold it
To answer your enquiry, to size and quote a system, and where you become a customer, to register the installation and to service it. That is the whole list.
How long
Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted after twelve months. Customer records are kept for the life of the workmanship warranty plus six years, because MCS registration and warranty claims both need them.
Who else sees it
Your distribution network operator, for the notification the installation legally requires. The MCS scheme, for registration. Our accountant, for invoices. Nobody else, and we do not sell or rent anything to anyone.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to us holding it. Email us and we will respond inside thirty days. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will say so at the top of this page rather than quietly reissuing it.
